Tina Fey

Here at Spiralcat we love the comedy of Tina Fey. Tina Fey is in the news right now for her spot-on characterisation of the Republican Vice Presidential Candidate. She writes biting satirical TV material but gives it a warm heart.

She has a great talent for boiling down the powerful BS being spouted by such people and showing it for what it is and poking fun and the strategies they employ on television to hide their real agenda.

In this Saturday Night Live TV show clip all three comedy players are top quality but it is Tina Fey that shines and provides that must-see factor which has spread word of this TV comedy ribbing of the idiocies of a second rate politician across the globe.

The only problem is that the skit is so good that Tina's name might be forever linked with that of Sarah Palin, and I'm not too sure how happy Tina Fey will be about that.

She is also the genius behind the TV show 30 Rock, which is one of the best comedy shows on TV right now.

One of her first jokes was about the hard edges of life in the big city, focusing on line jumpers at a hot dog stand, and how to fight them. She makes jokes about the cynicism of modern life and especially the media but does not delight in it as some other writers do.

The all powerful TV show boss in 30 Rock is a figure of fun who's life is anything but enviable and is a great counterpoint to characters like the one Captain Kirk plays in Boston Legal who are presented as almost aspirational in all their vileness.
