Spiralcat Music

Here at Spiralcat we love music of all kind but above all popular music. We love rock and rap. We love Jazz and Latin. We also love unusual stuff and a bit of cheese now and again.

The music pages on Spiralcat include;

Oasis are britpop geniuses An Oasis song can change your life

Lupe Fiasco Hip-hop with an old school political edge that is still modern and cool

Tragic Roundabout gig report

An artivcle about The Arcade Fire

Barbara Stanzl Vocalist

We have been to see some really cool bands live. We were there.

We were there to see the Tragic Roundabout playing in 1999 in Brighton indoors.

We saw the Darkness live and were the first to cheer when we recognised a special keyboard version of Friday Night. It took the rest of the crowd a little while.

We translated an article about The Arcade Fire into English.

We saw the Belle Orchestra using a typewriter as a musical instrument and we jumped to catch the piece of paper as it was thrown into the crowd.

Spiralcat especially loves our very own Barbara Stanzl a talented vocalist and song writer.

We saw Hugo Chavez, ok there was no music but it was like a rock concert.

We saw a short rubbish Prince concert where the pint sized prince of pop obviously couldn`t be bothered.

We were there for the Fiery Furnaces gig in Kings Cross

We were there right at Ronnie Scott's to see Alvin Jones win over a crowd through pure force of character

We were there to see Faro Sanders sitting and watching his band from a chair, but when he stood to play we experienced genius at first hand.

We have seen back street Regae gigs under the arches of Brixton.

We have a huge collection of tapes, CDs, vinyl and downloaded digital music and there are a few gems among these pieces of music that we are very proud of. We have the Beatles White Album, KY by Lemon Jelly and lots of cool songs like Tiny Dancer a sweet cheesy song with a catchy chorus we discovered when we saw Almost Famous.

We have 110th st which we rediscovered when we watched Jackie Brown.
