Children's Book Illustrations
I really enjoy drawing children's book illustrations and have a few illustrations like this one on my
selection of children's book art page. Drawing in this way with pencil is enourmously time consuming but at the same time enourmously satisfying. Drawing the seeweed in the foreground alone took a few hours and as I was working on the detail around the edge of the seventeenth seaweed leaf I did begin to question if it was worth it but I am so glad I perservered.
Illustration takes time
People really can see the difference between an
illustration that has had time and effort lavished on it and an illustration that was dashed off quickly, and I think illustration customers and appreciators of art generally prefer the former. I also do science fiction illustrations such as these
