Mccain is becoming easier and easier to hate and for a political cartoonist that's gold dust.
His campaign is going increasingly negative and is focusing on ever less important point scoring which makes him all the easier to make fun of in comic strips.
This is of course understandable as all the observers of the current election race agree that if Mccain sticks to the issues then he is going to lose and here at Spiralcat we agree. We have been following the election closely looking for material for the comic strip so we should know.
He has been thrashing about looking for another strategy in his quest to become president which has previously been thwarted by that monkey brained populist Bush. Steve Bell's characterisation of him will always stand out as just a perfect political characature.
Now that has got to hurt.
He has had dirt tricks, disinformation and robocalls used on him by Bush to great effect and he has hired the Bush flunkies responsible for putting that together. He's been looking for a soundbite as hard as wehave been looking for material for our comicstrip, and finally found one in Joe the plumber, though what stumping up a big fraction of a million dollars to buy a firm has got to do with small business and middle class American voters I don't know. Perhaps it seems to fit from Mccain's exahlted heights of wealth but it all just seems fishy to me and that's the inspiration for this political cartoon. This has been the most entertaining presidential smackdown so far since the very start of the Hillary vs Obama slugfest and it isn't going to let up. I can't wait to see what happens next, apparently the vice presidential candidate has been shopping, oh goody!
