Google Ads Page
Making the
google adds work on
my microsoft office live site has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done. But it is very rewarding. I have found the
office live forum on the Microsoft site to be very helpful with lots of people offering advice on what to do. The Google search words which should pop up an answer on how to get the ads working are any combination of the following;
google adds custom footer officelive
And the same goes for google analytics. There is an alternative method to the custom footer and this is an iframe. Do not use the iframe method as this is against Google terms and conditions and can get you banned.
The reason this page even exists is that I had an office live page that got very garbled after I experimented with it. It would crash the browser whenver it loaded. I managed to put it right again, Although it was never the same (poor thing lost it's left margin). Now I always try new things out on a blank page just to make sure there will be no nasty side effects.
Once I've done this of course I find that I can't bring myself to get rid of the page. I have landed on to many web pages that are cashed by Google but which don't exist because some clever dick webmaster has redesigned the site. I hate such a practice. I'll never do it. Once a page exists it should be allowed to live on forever!
Now I have about 130 pages on the site and I'm told I need something closer to 500 and I'm writing nice pages on interesting subjects with the words I want Google to find repeated often to put my Google adsense ads in.
I'm also experimenting with adding blogs to this Office Live site with some code I found here at this
Office Live design tips site.
It worked but I've deleted it again so that there aren't too many Google ads on this page.
